Project Description
As part of Small Business Season around the 2021 holidays, the Springfield Chamber invested in a new offering for the public that would focus on spotlighting unique experiences, products, + services across the region, as part of the Shop Small nationwide movement to celebrate small businesses/ support local/ help communities thrive + stay vibrant. For those who lean on the convenience of giving through gift cards, the Chamber team created the Willamette Valley E-Gift Card available for purchase, as a way to ensure gift card dollars could be reinvested locally.

Work Involved
- Graphic design + communications
- Created new logo for the campaign, + singularly revamped branding assets + all relevant marketing collateral (print + digital).
- Copywriting + dedicated webpage development
- Produced + dispersed company comms materials, including instructions + invites to participate/ purchase.
- Built the initial webpage on the Chamber’s website, collaborating with program host/ partner Yiftee.
Design Approach
“Shop, Stay, Play” became the campaign associated with the gift card, encouraging customers to purchase e-gift cards that would be available to use at a variety of local retailers, restaurants, services, + entertainment vendors.
The design for the logo incorporated several iconic elements into one design that are associated with Springfield + the greater Willamette Valley.
A well-known art sculpture in Springfield, Ore., entitled “Flame“ (towering over Gateway Street + Randy Papé Beltline) serves as inspiration for the recognizable shape of the logo. It ties in the shape of a location map icon and a graphic illustration of the Willamette River, all encased in the shape of the State of Oregon.
